Digital Assistance for Authors

Are you a published author who could use an extra hand? Too busy at your "real" job to spend time on marketing and social media? Or just want to have time to write and not hassle with the nitty-gritty of publishing?

Then let me help you! Here are some ways that I am currently helping authors:
  • I send out review queries to bloggers in the United States, Canada and the UK and organize blog tours.
  • I organize social media marketing campaigns.
  • I create a variety of professional-looking promotional materials for reasonable prices, including graphics for social media and press releases.
  • I check paper and digital proofs for spelling and formatting errors.
  • I run contests and giveaways.
  • I write and manage author newsletters.
I'm very organized and also work a flexible schedule so I can usually complete tasks within a day or two of requests. I charge a reasonable hourly rate and/or flat rates depending on your preference.

I also offer services to unpublished authors looking to break into the industry including:
  • Manuscript assessment and formatting.
  • Copy editing and proofreading.
  • Researching genre-appropriate agents.
  • Drafting agent query letters and a book synopsis.
  • Helpful tips for self-publishing.

If you are looking to self-publish a new title or a previously published work that you have received the rights back to, I can assist with the entire process, including cover design and interior layouts.

Here's what my clients have to say about me.
Ever since I hired Carolyn to provide me with author services I've been able to focus on what I needed to: writing my next book. Smart, reliable and great to work with. I couldn't imagine a better assistant. Catherine McKenzie, bestselling author of HIDDEN and THE GOOD LIAR.

I was stuck between"free" editing from family, friends and acquaintances, and paying some hefty coin for industry editors. Carolyn was the solution. Besides her excellent eye for grammatical errors, she delivered her plot feedback in a positive and constructive way ... which was something that was important to my creative motivation. Jay Austin Seals, author of THE PUNISHMENT ROCK

As an aspiring author working on my first novel, Carolyn was a huge help in identifying areas where my work needed improvement. Her input included reordering the chapters to help my story build suspense while improving its flow, wording changes that made the dialogue more real and believable, and editing parts of the book that were simply too long for my target audience. Her help has been invaluable and I have no doubt that without her, my book may very well have died on the vine. —Andrew Michelin, author of HELEN OF THE REALM

Carolyn reviewed and edited my book. She has been insightful, supportive and professional in all aspects of this endeavor. Always honest and prompt to help in any way. I was fortunate to have someone with this expertise and knowledge on my side.
 —Michael Lorenzo, author of GODLIKE
